Ernest and Julia are invited by the Australian Mystery Writers' Society to join them on the Ghan for its crime-writing festival. Ernest, who still feels pretty good about the success of his first novel, is currently having a hard time writing his second, and with its fast approaching due date is causing him some anxiety. The train is filled with authors and fans alike, but when murder strikes the authors band "together" to figure out who committed the crime.....and Ernest now has his topic for his second novel.

When I first picked up the novel I thought "a murder on a train.....original," but I can say that Benjamin Stevenson has added his own twist and has kept it fun and unique. Like the first book, this novel is being written while Ernest is experiencing the events on the train. He continues to speak to the reader and adds little blurbs.

The second Ernest Cunningham book was a fun, easy read and I would recommend it to anyone who likes a campy mystery novel.
