Damilare weaves a tale like no other. Temi's quest for a booty boost hilariously unravels the family's deepest secrets. As a mom to girls, I hope they always understand that people's opinions about their character and behavior matter, but when it comes to their physical attributes, they shouldn't give a hoot!

many layers
a family of women povs
topics on plastic surgery, self love, self esteem, acceptance, relationships etc
kind of got confusing with all the povs though

i appreciated the storyline but definitely didn’t get those 5 stars vibes unfortunately but i did enjoy it nonetheless.

4.5⭐️s. The first book by this author was a 10/10. This one fell a little short. But only a little. & that’s just because I got a little confused in the mid chapters , with the aunties. It’s still definitely one of the best books. I’ve read all year. And I would highly recommend it !!!
It definitely made me think twice about cosmetic surgery ! This book was funny but real at the same time. I loveeeeddd all the POVs from the different women. Women go through so much. It’s really unfair & universal.

is book explores the themes of unrealistic beauty standards & expectations, gender trauma, cultural familial relationships, with a genius sense of humour. I am absolutely in love with @damilarekuku first book , “Nearly All the Men in Lagos Are Mad” so I had super high hopes for this one... & it did not disappoint.

✨ Let’s get into it, Family secrets, judgmental aunties, Covid 19 Memories , & Brazilian butt lifts.
In Only Big Bumbum Matters Tomorrow, Damilare Kuku brings her signature humor, boldness, and compassion to each member of this loveable but exasperating family, whose lives reveal the ways in which a woman’s physical appearance can dictate her life and relationships and show just how sharp the double-edged sword of beauty can be!!

Not as lighthearted as the title suggests, but I didn't mind that. I enjoyed the multiple perspectives as it brought depth to the characters, especially as you start to realise that each and every one of them has faced sexism in their own ways. I thought the use of the second person in Temi's chapters was a clever way to set her story apart from the other characters and make the reader sympathise with her plight. Overall, an interesting and (to me) somewhat surprising insight into modern-day Nigeria. Would recommend!

This was a fun book to read and the same time informative and educative that we are enough they were we are. Lets make changes because we want for ourselves and not because the society deem so

I really wanted to love this, but the writing was all over the place, and I don't mean the literal changes and perspectives of timelines with each chapter. I wish the characters had backbone.
