I enjoyed this way more than I thought I would. The world-building was above and beyond so many other YA books I have read and the story got surprisingly dark in points. The loss of autonomy for women, and creation of huminoids for specific tasks that alter them to the extream, the use of 'the Excess' to describe the planet-dwelling humans really added a dimension of darkness and violence to the whole atmosphere of the book.
Absolutely loved every minute of this story. Sci-fi, love, friendship, and growing into yourself . It's everything I didn't know I was looking for.

The futuristic, dystopian idea of faraway galaxies, planets and sci-fi ship-dwelling is always fun and I can appreciate how faith was constructed in this book.
I feel like character development could have been added to more. A decent book overall.

The first 50 pages really drew me in, the next 100-150 were a bit drawn out, but then it was like a marathon to find out what happened next! Overall, it was worth the read.

Bland and generic. I didn't really care for the characters. Kinda just finished the book to finish it. I'm not going to bother reading further into the series though.
There was nothing new or exciting here. The book was also borderline romancey, which I wasn't expecting nor wanting. At least it wasn't too young adult.

Definitely a page-turner! I enjoyed this book a lot. Nemesis’ character development was so intriguing as it unfolded, and seeing how each character had a hand in her growth made it unpredictable at times. The pacing is great, never too slow or dull but not so fast-paced that it got confusing. The world-building is handled very well. I never felt like it was too complex to understand, but neither was it too simple. Overall I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read the sequel!
