This was such a quick enjoyable read! Not quite a black cat x golden retriever dynamic but we do get a hyper independent FMC and an MMC who is gregarious and can’t help being obsessed with her despite the fact she doesn’t like him. A fake dating turns marriage of convenience where they mutually try to help each other reach goals they have leads to them falling in love.
There’s antics as they try to convince their small town they’re in love but also moments of intimacy and tenderness where we can see them falling in love, especially as Avery begins to rethink what she knows and believes about Emmett.
All in all, if you’re looking for a light and fun small town read with fake dating and a loathe to love vibe, I highly recommend!

Took off some points bc it took me a big longer to get into than I'd have liked but overall I really liked it. I'm glad I stuck it out!
Unless they are both exceptionally interesting or talented like in Emily Henry books I find small town romances very dull.
