My 5yo son loved this story! Perfect level of depth for him, and the first chapter book I've read to him. Yay!

Read this to my children and enjoyed it. I had to explain a few things that have differed with time but for the most part still very related to children and shows the importance of moderation and not being selfish.
Great story with awesome morals. The wording may be a little outdated for current ages though.

I received this book from a Goodreads giveaway. I finished it recently with my toddler and I didn’t love it. I found the moral to be obvious and it just wasn’t my favorite. The writing and characters are dated and don’t feel as appropriate in current times.
My 8 year-old and I both agreed on 3 stars for this one.
