I enjoyed this but I don't know that it actually had much substance. I feel like it's one of those in-one-ear-and-straight-out-the-other kind of books.
People seem to really like it though. I don't know if it's because the cover's super recognizable or what, but this is the first book I've read in a while that's caused strangers to approach me and start gushing about how much they love the main character. Like... literally every time I've taken this book out in public someone's had something to say about it.
There were some really good quotes in here though, I do appreciate Patrick deWitt's writing quite a bit.

Really cool book, it made me nostalgic for Deadwood. Plus the cover rocks, you can't go wrong with this one.

I love dark comedies but I could not find the humor in this one. The narration style was boring to the point where I questioned if there was even really a plot. The Sisters Brother’s journey was too repetitive and once I got to a certain scene involving a child I decided it wasn't my cup of tea. Hopefully I will find a dark comedy western I enjoy more.

Quick and engaging read, it was interesting to read about everyday life in the time period. Some of the descriptions were a little gruesome but it fit with the theme. I liked Eli’s voice and against all odds found myself rooting for these two murderers.
I’d call this one 3.5 stars. It was a fun change of pace. I enjoyed the movie a few years back. It was delightful to imagine the actors as the leads in my brain depiction.
I never would have thought I would enjoy a western. But this book has such a unique voice, every character is fully formed, and each scene is a gem.
