Perfect for reading by the pool on my late holiday, I think this missed out by coming out at the start of September.
Usual fare from Ms Keynes, large chaotic and charismatic Irish family simmer away around the edges of Amy’s crisis when her husband wants a break from his entire life. Tackles major issues well and there’s always lots of humour but far too many words wasted on descriptions of clothes and designer gear

I normally love Marian Keyes. but this had such a predictable ending and I spent most of the story wanting to slap Amy or Neave. maybe just not for me.

Além disso, algumas questões me incomodaram.

This is an interesting concept and made for an interesting book. I often at times found the main character Amy quite annoying but I also sympathised with her. Towards the end of the book I was feeling less and less invested or interested and quite sad actually but the ending was totally worth it and what I wanted from this story. A happy ending.

Not many people may like reading a story like this, it may be too real or co flicking for some, but I loved that it didn’t sugar coat over how complex and conflicting relationships can be. Stress from family, work, financial, and self confidence etc can all take a toll and this covers a lot of it.
The characters were flawed and vulnerable (and some were also just jerks *cough* Ritchie Aldin) but even though there was still a ‘happy’ ending, they felt real. And there are still the hilarious characters you’d expect from A Marian Keyes novel.
It did feel like it dragged on in some areas, I found myself wishing it was a tad shorter, but not enough to make me think of putting it down.
