So many grammar and punctuation errors that drove me nuts.. banter was funny but I was sad that Mednax and Caly were hardly in this book. Overall, all four books were weird and not the best but short enough that it didn’t bother me too much because I had some good laughs too

This was not the ending to the series I had hoped for. Cal and Mendax were basically dropped and barely touched. I had hoped to learn about how ruling the realms would go, how their relationship progressed, their kiddo, etc. Instead we got Eli, but not really cuz WHO IS THIS MAN?? He is so different from the other 3 books. Just constantly whining, second guessing himself, being a judgemental jerk.
I would have enjoyed this if it was a novella and the last book was about Cal and Mendax. There were so many things left unanswered... the forgotten fae had taken over, how did mendax get his realm back? How did the people handle losing their true royals and a "human" replacement stepped in? How did Cal learn her powers? How is Cals relationship with her Dad? What is going on with her research into magic? How is Cal handling trying to be a good person? I also really wanted to see them as parents. After 3 books of trauma, drama and darkness, we deserved to read about their happily ever after.
As for this actual book...The tiers themselves were a really interesting concept, but I dont think they were used to their best potential. Some of them were barely a few pages long and almost nothing happens.
Also, the tension of the two MCs got tedious by the end. Seriously, the last like 15 pages is when things finally happen?? And it was so bland too. This whole story felt sooo drawn out and then sooo rushed. We didnt really get to read about their happily ever after either. Nor how Anna felt about her powers being restored. Or about the tie between them. Or the changes she made to the underworld.
The formatting of the story also threw me for a loop quite a bit. Mainly the fact that speech was lumped together from different characters in the same paragraph. Parenthies were in the wrong spot, or skipped entirely. It kept throwing me out of the story trying to figure out who was talking and if they WERE still talking. Sentences were broken up half way through, there were random dashes through words that didn't need it. Definitely messy.
Overall, the book was just meh to me. Which is such a letdown.
