Very entertaining book. Very well written. Would definitely recommend this as a good read. As to what it is about? It is a general coming of age story, but told with humor and intelligence and a bit of stickin' it to the man attitude.
interesting. I'm glad this book was written. I'm not without qualms on the subject matter, but it was fascinating to read something so transparently designed as a girl's first primer on feminism and yet entertainingly disguised as a silly story. It was enjoyable to read, and I'll likely think more about it.
Brilliant. A great read for feminist book clubs coming off something heavy. So many different ways to approach feminism from Trish to Zada to our beloved narrator Frankie. Although, I tend to sympathize with Zada's opinions I appreciate Frankie's need to infiltrate the "man".
i love this book!! i love frankie as such an intelligent, independent protagonist and i sympathise with her completely (i go to a private school that was originally all-male and and the boys there are very similar to the ones frankie experiences). to me this is a story of a clever, powerful girl achieving something incredible in her patriarchal society, and it still remains funny and light-hearted even with serious messages and great writing. frankie landau-banks is one of my favourite characters and this book is seriously underrated.

I'm so glad that I found this book and decided to read it when I did, because it very nearly went under my radar. It was just so...smart. Every time I opened this book I felt like I was being treated by something, like my intelligence was being respected. Here's why:
Frankie was such an utterly refreshing character. Unlike most of today's YA heroines, she didn't spend countless pages whining about her looks (or lack thereof), quite simply because, in this story, they didn't freaking matter. Again, having a story directed towards my age group about a girl who uses her intelligence and drive to get ahead was hugely refreshing.
I also liked how most of the female characters, for all their feminism and liberal thinking, were still allowed to be girly and have fun. I liked how the male characters were well-meaning but still let the age-old patriarchal mindset take over. Basically, I liked how all the characters were brilliantly flawed, but still, well, brilliant.
The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks is just a really smart, fun, well-written book. I'm definitely adding the author's other works to my to-read list now!
Also: the neglected positives thing? AWESOME.

This is a wonderful feminist F-you cleverly masquerading as a young adult fluff piece. Oh, don't get me wrong, the dreamy boyfriend and the hilarious pranks are important, but they are not what make Frankie Landau-Banks great. What makes her great is her character arc, her deadly wit and her determination not to be underestimated.
I should probably, objectively and fairly give it 4 stars... But I bloody love a boarding school setting and secret societies. And feminism. Even if it is a little crazy!
fast-paced
One of the best books I've read in a while. It definitely made me think.
