Stan Lee has done it again! While I wish the physical version of this book was available, listening to it as an audiobook was an enjoyable experience, though sometimes I zoned out and then had to determine where I started zoning out. Overall it's a good book! At times some of the dialogue was a little cringe-worthy, but mainly only towards the end of it.

I had to call it quits half way through because I don't think that i should work this hard to maintain my attention. Very slow development.

Stan Lee is great at creating new worlds and characters. He play with powers really easily and makes even the smallest powers the best. I really think he's take on Nia was just *chef's kiss*,
he really made her represent both good and evil — and as if being good and evil wasn't to much, he made her being a confused teenager with daddy issues
. With this being said, the first 70-ish pages didn't really got me hooked up and the rest wasn't as exciting as I was expecting to be. I really didn't felt attached to the characters like at all so I'm not a bit excited for the sequence. But even though I didn't like it that much, the powers, the world building and the plot twist deserves to be recognized so that's why I gave it a 3 stars.

The plot idea is a cool one, with a character named Cameron who receives special powers and a character named Nia who is not what she appears to be. A cross of sci fi and super power genres. It just took a long, complicated time to get anywhere and I had no connection with the characters. I normally love super power books but this was not my cup of tea. Swearing and some pretty icky violence. 8th grade and up.

This story was engaging enough to motivate me to get out and run in the cold and the dark, but I did have to restart the story 3 times before I really got into it. I'm a sucker for futuristic super-hero stories. Fun escapist fiction with light social commentary on our dependence on devices and the internet.

Very excited about this book as I love all things Stan Lee, but the story was just alright. I enjoyed the aspect of how interconnected/interdependent we are on electronics and all things smart; however the book read slowly to me and didn’t keep me wanting to turn the page. I struggled to finish the book, but glad I did. Fairly predictable story arc with both main characters and would have actually enjoyed more back story with the old man/father and the alien war that was waged prior to Earth. Overall, worth the read but doesn’t do anything to extend the genre.
