OMG!!! I love Holly and Nate's story! It fits in so well with the rest of the series. Nate is Holly's twin brothers best friend who she has lusted over for years. She has no idea that he feels the same way, but hides it beneath his playboy ways. Things come to a head when Holly volunteers for a charity auction and Nate wins the bid for her. Try as she may to keep Nate off her mind, she eventually caves. She keeps insisting every time will be the last time and when she misreads a situation she assumes she and Nate are not meant to be. It takes Nate being in danger for her to admit her true feelings...no more spoilers....just read it now!!!

I absolutely enjoyed this story!! It was a great read and I loved getting to know the characters better. Both Holly and Nate have been in previous stories as small side characters but we never got to know them too much. I loved getting to learn so much more about them. I loved Nate's personality and Holly's sassy-ness. Holly and Nate each had a crush on the other but as they had been friends for so long and are so interconnected by their best friends/siblings neither ever really acted on it and didn't know how to handle it. I loved seeing them work through things and loved how determined Nate become about taking the chance and pursuing Holly. This story is well written and drew me in from beginning to end. The sex is explicit. There was always more to it than just sex for sex with the two of them, even if they wanted to believe that's all it was at times. It was a great story and I'm super excited to see where things go next in this series.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Burn For You by J.H. Croix is a steamy addition to her Into the Fire series. This book is a stand-alone novel that brings us the steamy romance between Holly and Nate. After a heated kiss that almost leads to more Holly and Nate have just about avoided each other. Nate is known for being casual with the ladies and not looking for anything serious relationship wise. He’s not a complete cade but he has a reputation for having his fun and then moving on to the next. All of that is about to change when he sees a prime opportunity to live out his fantasies with Holly. Now, if only they can avoid the usual pitfalls of a potential budding romance…
Burn For You is steamy from beginning to end. Holly is a nurse at the local hospital and she’s had a thing for her brother’s best friend Nate. Everything kicks off with an auction around Halloween with Holly sporting a sexy nurse’s costume. Nate wants a shot with her and he spends big bucks to make it happen. Holly is wanting to settle down and have a family, but that’s not so easy when you live in a town where everyone knows you. I like how dedicated to her job Holly is and how strong her friendships are with her friends. She keeps things private when she needs to and is pretty good with finding the right one to talk to concerning certain topics. Nate is smart, sexy, and oh-so-hard to resist.
The author gives us steamy and lots of it when things jump off between Holly and Nate. Get ready because you don’t have to wait long. I enjoy this book, but there are times when I feel that the author is describing an anime character more than an actual woman. There are moments of where I wish that there was more drama between the characters, of an outside source, but I appreciate that things aren’t all smooth sailing between them. I just wish that Holly had given Nate an opportunity to explain himself in certain situations.
All in all, I am rating this book 4.5 out of 5 stars. This a steamy romance novel that blends in familiar characters from previous books in this series. The author gives us a happily ever after with these characters and gives us a taste of their life after they get straight. I enjoy the ending and how everything comes together. Definitely a must-read for those who have enjoyed reading books by this author and the familiar characters that show up in this book.

More steam than substance

So, I love J.H. Croix, but this is another book in this series in which pretty much nothing happens. Yes, there is the basic storyline of girl + brother's best friend and all the internal dialog of "will this work out?", but I don't feel that alone makes a story.

Nate and Holly have off-the-charts chemistry. Their banter and sparks are fun to read. And their group of friends are a nice addition to the story.

I'm just not sure why there is no other plot in this book. Nothing else happens except this back and forth in each of the lead characters' minds about wether they should be together. There is a lot of really steamy scenes, I just wish there was more happening in this book.

This is book 9 in the Into the Fire series and it features Holly and Nate. Holly is so stubborn. I understand that some of her behavior is from the Jake incident back in high school but some is just stubbornness or insecurity. Nate is so cute…and sexy! It’s his outstanding personality that does it. He’s got to overcome his reputation in order to move in the direction he wants to go.

As always, this story line is awesome and so are the characters. The people of Willow Brook are fantastic and it just goes to show you how amazing small towns can be. Excitedly looking forward to the next one!
