3.5.
Got this as a quick introduction to the writing style of Jo Nesbo before commencing with longer novels and I was pleasantly surprised.
Pacing was great for me and the plot had an unexpected twist. Olav was an intriguing narrator and entertaining.
Definitely want to progress on to more novels!

"I am honestly at a loss as to what to really say about this book; I didn’t think it anything particularly amazing while reading it, and was rather shocked when the twist happens at the end. What I am unsure of is if this twist undoes all of the previous parts of the story in such a way that reveals more of the story in a positive way, or undermines it completely. I did enjoy the action and Nesbø’s writing, but I just can’t give it more than 3 out of 5 because of the uncertainty I am left with. This was my first foray into his fiction, so perhaps I should give another of his books a try." - https://thepastduereview.com/2018/02/14/blood-on-snow-review/

A taut, enjoyable little hitman thriller with more literary flourish than you're used to seeing within this genre. Memorable narrator. Plenty of twists and turns, though the most potent ones pertain to character and not plot, which is kind of unusual and refreshing.
2.75 stars, almost a three. Had I not decided to read this for my adult reading interests class, I probably would have DNFed about 50 pages in. The story fell flat for me and I wasn't invested in any of the characters. I will be giving Nesbo another chance but this one was the first of his I'd read and would not recommend starting with this.
I liked it. It was a nice audiobook and I enjoyed listening to the story.
I think it's not Jo Nesbos best story but still very interesting.
The problem is that I had a hard time connecting with the protagonist.
But still, writing was nice and I think it's a quick "read"

A short book written in the first person. Kind of unusual as the protagonist is a dyslexic hit man (or "fixer) with a soft spot for women affected by his actions. Set in the snow of Oslo. Entertaining and readable with a few interesting twists and turns.

Shockingly, this was a good read. I was not looking forward to this category in the book challenge (Nordic Noir) but I heard that Nesbo was a very popular author and decided this short book would be manageable. While not "fine literature" by any means, the story is compelling and not too easy to predict.
