Nerd comic awesomeness with references to literature & history throughout...guy watch with the Bronte sisters or read Jules Verne's fan letter to Poe. Hilarity ensues.

I started reading this in the school library and I wish I hadn't. Now everybody thinks I'm crazy for literally doubling in laughter and wheezing loudly .

It has its ups and downs. There are times when it gets kinda dull (if you don't really get the piece of history to which the comic is referring, for example). However, when you do get the history, the comics are hilarious. I found myself laughing so hard at times that I startled people sitting around me, or waking people sleeping in other rooms. Oops!

I love everything Kate Beaton does, so naturally I love this. It's a collection of her webcomics which are usually about history and classic history, with the occasional break for things like Nancy Drew and Batman and butts. Drawn and Quarterly has done a splendid job with this release. I hope her next collection has her strips about the 2010 Olympics, those were brilliant.
