This book suffered from a slumping middle and an overabundance of characters, but even so, I enjoyed this take on Arthurian legend and I'm looking forward to the second book.

I love stories about Camelot. That being said, this book did not blow me away. But, I didn't hate it either. I really enjoyed the audiobook. I also really liked some of the characters. Especially Brangien. All in all, I enjoyed it enough that I will read the next one. I need to see where it goes from here.

I love this book Series with all my heart, the first one does a good job of pushing you into the very veginubg of the story making you want more!
I wanted to listen to an audiobook at work today and I thought what better way to chip at my physical tbr than to listen to a book that's been on it for a while. I listened to about 44% and I'm honestly so bored. I am not enjoying myself and I have decided to dnf it and donate the copy I have. I'm happy I finally gave it a try but upset I didn't enjoy it.

If I just wish hard enough this series might become really Queer
I was so excited when I heard this was a King Arthur and Merlin retelling. Didn’t love it though. It was a nice story to listen to while I did work around the house and crafted, but it didn’t keep my attention like I was hoping it would. There’s too much unknown that doesn’t get revealed until too late in the story. Waiting too long for the reveal caused a lack in any true driving force for the story, as none of the other characters were really all that concerned about any dangers. I am curious where the story leads and plan on listening to book 2.
Doesn’t get very far in this volume but some interesting ideas are set up.
