I can not imagine reading the first book in this series in 2012 and having to wait 10 years for my ship to finally become canon in the 10th book I would just end it all..
glad I binged this whole series in like 2 weeks but at what cost? and it's not even finished yet I hate it here. sokeefe you mean so much to me

Actual rating 3.5 stars.
Okay, so the first 500 pages (68%) of this book were filler. They were BORING. If it weren't for chapter 42 and the last 200 pages this would be a 2 star book.
I feel like Shannon Messenger has to do two things:
1) LOOSE THE BORING PARTS. As I've mentioned previously, the first 68% was SOOOOOO boring. I literally had to read Stellarlune waiting in a 50 minute long line at school. I feel like Shannon Messenger could have cut off some of that. It could have probably been condensed into 200 pages, instead of 500.
2) KILL SOMEBODY. Out of context that sounds bad, but there has not really been any character development for Sophie in the series. There was a perfect opportunity for her to kill off Sandor or Mr. Forkle, BUT SHE DIDN'T. No character development due to a death of a loved one. Zip, zero, nada. Look at Harry Potter; there are at least 3 important people that died (I won't name names incase someone hasn't read it) and it worked.
BUT, BUT, the last 200 pages were pretty good, not to mention the cliffhanger. (And ch. 42, finally it happened!) So, Keeper fans, get ready to be bored more than half through the book, but then get a bunch of twists and turns thrown at you.
