So I liked Bad Luck Bridesmaid, it gave me conflicting feelings but still earned 4 stars from me. I had a hard time getting in the groove of this one. I’m not a fan of dual timelines, especially when they jump the way this book does. I also was really bored of the Maggie/Garrett story. It took too long to introduce Asher in my mind. But once we got to him, I loved him and I loved them! And I still am churning on the ending, was it really what I wanted? Sigh! I think that is Greenbergs calling card; endings that you hate and love equally.

Maggie is 30+ and wants a baby, career and is hopeful about love, but the timing isn't right. I liked this book, it was messy and kinda chaotic. Maggie was relatable, but also frustrating. I loved Maggie's best friend Summer, she was blunt and a straight shooter, my type of people.

Although there are things I loved about the book there are a lot of things I didn't like, the ending being one of them. I still think it is worth the read.

Read if you like:

-Love triangles
-Multiple timelines
-Young love
-Celebrity/normal person

An emotional rollercoaster that my heart is still recovering from

This is one of the most unexpected, brilliant books I’ve read in a while. It is rare that I read a book where I can’t predict the outcome. Reading through the time jumps and relationship jumps really helps to set the stage for the one true love story to unfold. I was constantly rooting for both of the MMCs in throughout her life. I’m telling you even in the last chapter of the book I wasn’t certain where or even if there was a HEA for Maggie. I will say you have to pay very close attention to the chapter titles since the time jumps around without rhyme or reason to tell the stories behind her music and relationships. I love the relationships, the what ifs, the friendships, Maggie, the supporting characters. Ugh it was so good!

Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I adored this second chance plus friends-to-lovers romance novel (although it was so much more than that)! Singer-songwriter Maggie Vine made a marriage pact with two very different men - her teenage boyfriend and one of her closest guy friends through her 20s and 30s. At 35, she has to confront her feelings for each man head-on.

Alternating between past and present timelines, the author deftly shows us how Maggie fell in love with each man at different stages of her life with each having a different, yet lasting, impact on her life and view on love (I did have a favourite right from the get-go as one of the guys felt spineless to me - not that Maggie was any better!) I felt the book was more about a journey of heartbreak, grief, first love, unrequited love and most of all friendship (loved Summer's story). All characters are flawed characters but relatable - even the ending was crafted in a realistic manner (at least to me).

Well, this was just a delightful read. I appreciated that the feels in this one came with angst which I'm always down for. This had a bit of Ben/Noel/Felicity vibes, and I'm also always down for that. I loved how this centered how Maggie was navigating life at 35 and also shared how she got to that point. This one had some great humor, some unexpected twists, and was just a good book.
