This book was really mid-tier for me. If I have to be honest, I enjoyed the side characters way more than I did the main characters. I would've much rather read about Lola and Robbie or a book about Henry than a book about Nate. Anastasia had her moments but for the most I liked her, it was just Nate that really got on my nerves 😭🤚🏻

Like he just seemed kinda toxic throughout the book. He had this chokehold on Anastasia in the same exact way that he complained about Aaron having a chokehold on her. Not saying I support Aaron by any means. I think both of them needed to grow up and let Anastasia be her own person. But in my own personal opinion, there is no way this author should've written, "He is such a man written by a woman" when the dude doesn't even know what tampons and shampoo are.

Other than my qualms with Nate, this book is pretty middle of the road for me. I did enjoy the friendship banter, and honestly to a degree, I enjoyed the banter within Anastasia and Nate's relationship. I enjoyed the sports aspects of the book, I honestly wish there had been a little more hockey content and less "we're athletes so we're also f*ckboys who love to party" content.

Overall, I enjoyed this book, but it's definitely not my favorite read of the year. I am glad I was able to give it a chance. And maybe in the future I'll re-read it and like it more but for now, it's just a 3 star.

So maybe I’m just a fantasy girlie but this was a tad cringe. The side characters were amazing and some of the romance was cute but some of that dialogue…come on. It also felt like a lot of details should have been more important than they were.
like why do that whole thing about her not landing that move in there when she was just going to skip to her being pregnant in the epilogue, the epilogue being her solo at the Olympics and mastering that move would have been perfect
The pacing also wasn’t my favorite and the ending/epilogue was very rushed.

I'll admit that I came into this book with low expectations , because of booktoks habit of hyping up books with sex scenes in them regardless If they're actually good books are not, But this one? This one was amazing. I don't think there's really a single part of this book where I wasn't satisfied with the way it went.

I love the way the romance was handled. I love the way the book doesn't try to toss in a whole bunch of sports information when it's not necessary for this story.  I love the communication my god I love the communication , it's very rare to see in romance books. I love the friendships, Love the non toxic sports friend group , They were gonestly one of the best parts of the story without overpowering the main couple.  I fell in love with everyone,  especially Henry , hopefully we get a book on him. I love how the FL's friendships and problems were handled. Her inner monolgue perfectly portrayed someone who had a therapist and I love that.
my one gripe would be that I wish they'd adopted like she planned , that would've been really sweet story wise considering her back<\spoiler>

And the sex scenes? Extremely detailed but great to read .  Not cringey at all to me . And consent !!! with full communication throughout!! So rare to see sometimes.

Read the book. If you were on the fence about this story , I swear to you you'll enjoy it in some form. High praise to the author , can't wait to start on the next book in the series.

Brief Summary: I'm in the Henry fan club, and I'm not down with binge drinking.
 . . . . .
Could have done without that particular ending. Also, I'm not a fan of the binge drinking/alcoholism and excessive swearing in this story. Maybe I just don't like college romance books? I would have liked to read more about the connections that developed between the various characters when they weren't drunk.

Plenty of spice. Seriously, it was a lot.

Maple Hills had almost cozy vibes . . . but only if the character had a trust fund or was connected to someone with money. We weren't privy to the "other side" of Maple Hills.

There were so many characters that were introduced but not developed so I tripped on a few characters that I didn't recognize sprinkled throughout the story. As far as characters go, Henry was the most likeable. I'd read another Maple Hills book if he was the main character. (hint hint)

Literally just smut. I appreciate the consent and all, although sometimes it goes a bit too far. I usually don't mind some smut, but this book is excessive and the plot is almost nonexistent (I didn't expect this much smut, especially with a cover like that).
