I really enjoyed the three different perspectives from the three different women. I also enjoyed how it all tied in together at the end. I wish I knew more about Laura though and what happened to her and the relationships she had in her life.
best Virginia Woolf fanfic published…excited to watch the film
Even though the prose is eloquent, I remember Hours as a gloomy depressing story--like Plath's The Bell Jar. If you are a student of Virginia Woolf, you'll find it rich with discussion points.

I love the movie adaptation so much and thought I'd try the book. Although some parts loiter too long in how men view our main cast of women, I was still moved by many of the passages. The novel has such a sweeping nature to it. You pass from one POV to another and the malaise builds and builds until it releases.

The feminine urge to kiss women, pack up your things and leave. In that order.
