Weird. Hilarious. Disgusting. Brilliant. Offensive. Unpredictable. Strange. Perfect for those who like to be kept guessing, but not for those who don't appreciate abrasive/crude humor.
Yikes. Big no for me.
I finished the book, was not satisfied, so I went to google to see if I had missed anything. Turns out, I understood the story just fine. It was just so pointless in my opinion, and the message he tries to convey just was not well done.
It was unnecessarily offensive and vulgar. I did not like any of the characters. The storyline was whack. The use of trans characters as a “stupid and destructive act” did not sit right with me AT ALL. Sure there were plot twists, but the entire book was also a twist because it jumps from event to event, year to year, and you always feel like you’re missing something.
Safe to say, I hated this book. I don’t know how I managed to give this 1 star, while many people rave about the book, giving it 5–but obviously there’s something I’m missing, or this genre is simply not my cup of tea.

this book was amazing everything I had ever wanted from a Palahniuk book.
I was surprised at how good this book was, actually. I loved it.
There's only one thing to say about this book: PLOT TWISTS.
Amazing, really amazing.
Amazing, really amazing.

I really don't know how to rate this book. On one hand I really quite enjoyed it. The concept was very appealing to me, and I liked that this story was one hell of a wild and twisty ride.
However.. I really can't overlook the nasty way every LGBT character was written. Found it tasteless, to be honest.

Odd, wierd, shocking. Where does Palahniuk come up with this stuff? This isn't my typical cup of tea but once you start reading "Invisible Monsters" you can't stop because you have no idea where it's going. Not my favorite book but definitely worth reading.
I love Palahniuk's writing and this one was no exception. I love the savvy twists in the storyline and the gritty honesty of the narration. Great read!!
