I feel like a lot of this should be required reading. It's incredible how much stems from Greek mythology and some of the stories are fantastic.

It runs out of steam towards the last third with some dull, overly complicated myths that are lesser known probably for those reasons. I did enjoy the very end with the brief and unexpected section about Norse mythology.

Wonderful reference! Very well written... almost humorous at times!

A great collection of the Greek stories and myths told in a practical and easy to read form and is enjoyable to read! The stories have great information with names and dates, but you don’t get too confused about who is who. It was a joy to read.

The research that went into this book was admirable. I have so much respect for the author. However, I found this book extremely difficult to get through.

I'm got going to rate this, simply because they way it was written was good, but I really don't like Greek/Roman mythology. I know they're old, but I find the stories too problematic and obnoxious. The tiny section on Norse Mythology wasn't enough.

I now love greek mythology! The random chapter of norse mythology was unexpectedly welcome.
