I was looking for something beach-y, which this definitely is -- light, nice prose, and engaging. But it also didn't leave me with much of an impression, and I think that more could have happened to really push the characters/story. Basically, a good break from the last pretty serious books I read.

3.5-4: i liked the writing style. fun to listen to as an audiobook.

I loved this story, I could empathize with almost every character at some point during the story. I guess you'd call this a coming of age story although the age most of the characters are coming into is middle age, not early adulthood. I think that's what appealed to me the most about this story was that I could identify with realizing all the sudden you're a grown up which is hard and the things of your past that seemed like a such a big deal really aren't.

I liked getting both teenage and middle age love stories in one book. Thought the characters were very believable, but there was nothing revolutionary about the book.

(This is more like 3.5 stars for me.)
I did quite enjoy it as a light read. The characters and story line were fine and entertaining enough (I couldn't stand Andrew the whole time, though) but the writing itself is what carries this book.
I'd def pick up another by this author if I saw it in a bookstore.

I just really, really enjoyed reading this book. I haven't been able to say that in a while!

This missed the mark for me and was pretty forgettable. A big problem is that so much of this is about a (fictional) song; it's like she forced herself to break the "show, don't tell" rule because it doesn't really translate. This also has a weirdly mean spirited side to it, randomly taking shots at easy targets. I still feel like I like this author but not sure I'd be interested in her next one.

I really enjoyed the book and especially how the author tied all the loose ends together at the end. I thought it was easy to identify with and pretty easy to follow. Good summer beach read!
