A cute story that proves communication and explicit consent is a delight. I liked the planet caretaker aspect.

Not quite as good as [b:I Married a Lizardman|58124042|I Married a Lizardman (Prime Mating Agency #1)|Regine Abel|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1621726491l/58124042._SX50_.jpg|91101178], but I think it's due to the unique set-up. Obviously Regine can't write the same story over-and-over again, but I wasn't expecting the strange way this marriage of convenience was arranged.
Serena is a professional hunter competing in a tournament on a primitive world to help curb the population growth of a predatory animal-thing (not sentient, so don't worry). After Serena trespasses on the restricted lands of the primitive's sentient species, they offer an arranged marriage to their lead hunter or execution. Serena had already interacted with Szaro (the lead hunter), and there was already attraction there, so already the story had gone in a completely different direction than the first book.
I liked both of the characters; Szaro especially was a very sweet guy who was fascinated by Serena. He wanted to have Serena as his mate for life, but Serena was pretty stuck on leaving after her 6 month trial period was up. Insert Szaro doing everything he can to convince Serena to stay with him. It was another unique take on the marriage-of-convenience trope, but I wasn't as smitten with it as I was with the Lizardman book.
If you enjoy sci-fi/other worldly romances, this one will probably be entertaining. I definitely recommend.

FMC brakes a law and to avoid death she has to marry a member of the local Naga alien species. This is the second book in the Prime Mating series. I liked this one much much more than Lizardman, at least there wasn't anything problematic in this book. However I felt this ending was very rushed just like Lizardman so I'll probably stop reading any more in this series.

This was a very sweet story about not judging a book by its cover.
I didn’t enjoy it quite as much as book one but it was an easy read. The MMC’s immediate love for the MC felt a little OTT and there weren’t really any stakes or a climax to the plot.
I’ll be reading the third book regardless as it’s nice to take a break from angstier stories!
