Man, I love Kristan Higgins. This book was probably my favorite of hers, like today since I just finished it. The MC, Harper. I love her. At first, I hated her. Then I wanted to hug her and eat Ben & Jerry's with her. Was such an ice bitch, a real flawed character that grew once she admited that she needed others.

Her ex-husband, Nick. I just loved him. I wanted to hug him for his unfortunate act of meeting and then marrying the ice bitch. Then I wanted to call him an idiot for not fullilling Harper's needs and divorced him from my thoughts too.

The pacing was wonderful... giving me revelations when I needed them.

Normally I cry during Kristan Higgins books. I really thought I dodged a bullet, by not crying when Nick and Harper had their emotional fistacuffs. I was proud of myself. But what did me in later was Harper's relationships with her mother and stepmother. I was a babbling idiot.

What am I going to do now that I read all of her books currently in print? It's a sad day. I may have to re-read "The Next Best Thing" or "Too Good To Be True" until the author's next book is in print.

My new favorite Kristan Higgins book. A story about a girl who has avoided love afer an intense break up and divorce. At first I didn't understand her apprehension towards love and commitment but as the story slowly unfolded - which I loved, I was able to completely understand her story and why she was the way she was.

I loved the unfolding love triangle and really wasn't sure where our main character would end up - which I love. Sometimes my favorite part of a book is when I guess wrong! I flipped and flopped back and forth as to which guy I thought may work better for her. I am still not sure if I like the road she chose, but I was glad that I didn't know too far ahead of time.

The ease of reading made me rate it as a perfect beach read - I was on my way to Vegas for a work trip and it was the perfect companion while travelling. Definitely a read for an audience of ladies!

My One and Only is about a divorce lawyer named Harper James read people and if their on the wrong path to divorce. She gets a call from her step-sister Willa and find out she is marrying her ex-brother-in-law. This means she would see her ex-husband, Nick, after 12 years. Then as fate would have it planes are grounded and they must travel home together after the wedding.

During this trip Harper and Nick must decide if the flame is still there and if they should let it grow. As this is a romance novel the ending is predictable. Yes the flame will grow. The journey of their romance had me laughing at times and choked up at times. There are some side stories of her family members that just helps to pull everything together.

I have to admit for a romance novel 400 pages was a bit much but was I hit pg. 100 I was hooked and could not put this book down. I read almost 250 pages in one day because I had to know how Harper and Nick would find their way back to true love.

This is my first Kristan Higgins book and will probably keep an eye out for more of her books.

This was my first Kristan Higgins book. I could hardly put it down. I really enjoyed it. The main problem I have was that the end was tidied up a bit too quick at the end. And where was Isabel at the wedding? And why insist that Jason be at the wedding when he is such a jerk undeserving of any compassion. And I got a little tired of Dennis calling her dude. But I'm glad they ended up in Boston because I kept thinking they'd never make it back in NYC. But overall a fun story, interesting characters and backstory. And interesting emotional issues.

Was a 4.5 until the end. Last chapter and epilogue bumped it up to 5. Perfect.

This book is probably one of my favorites by this author, and I love most of her work so that says a lot! It’s funny and touching and the plot is really great- we’ve all wondered “what if” about a lost love, and I dare say we have all considered the excitement of a cross country road trip adventure. Well, this novel is what happens when you throw those two ideas together, and the outcome is a touching rom-com that makes for a fun beach read or just something to cozy up with and enjoy some time out. Highly recommend!

Any time I laugh out loud (rare) I have to give a book 4 stars. I think I could read the part where they see each other for the first time after 12 years 10 times over and still chuckle.

Great book! Quick easy read, the character hooked me from the beginning. This was my first Kristan Higgins, but I’m about to read a lot more!
