Very long but only because it is very in-depth. It made me want to trade stocks (save the insider information of course) and I think that any book that has the power to alter the path of your life a bit is a good one. I would recommend this book to a friend who likes stonks but not to one who doesn't

The sheer arrogance and audacity of these finance guys never ceases to amaze me! This was very thorough and informative without becoming boring. Solid primer on a scandal that's often referenced but I didnt have much background knowledge of. I enjoyed trying to figure out which bits of Gordon Gekko are attributable to each of these dudes

A pretty unbelievable story, but amazingly all true. The ease with which insider trading was perpetrated by Michael Milken, Ivan Boesky, Dennis Levine, Marty Siegel and many others is surprising and not surprising at the same time. The second half of the book satisfies by seeing these guys get their comeuppance, but there's a tinge of frustration there too knowing that some of them, including Milken, remain very very wealthy even after jail time and fines of hundreds of millions of dollars. Fun to read about Giuliani in his pre-mayoral years also.

I wouldn't have believed half of it if it were fiction. My grasp on the most intricate of the intricacies was tenuous, but it's really just a human story anyway. My second James Stewart, and the better, though not by too much. I want him investigative-journaling everything--go ahead and start with 2008.
