That cover though right?
Wow, get this just for the cover, what a hottie!
Seriously though, Lachlan and Mack, WOW! Mack is a badarse woman who has had a crappy life. She has few people in her life that she cares about, and one of them disappeared. She meets Lachlan trying to get information and the sparks fly. Yes, another mafia romance, but this one is worth reading!!

Ya'll can't just introduced a seemingly well-equipped FMC and then not showing it to it's full potential throughout the story 🥴. There isn't even monumental happening with her mission just full on charging in with the romance aspect.

Mackenzie, an underground MMA fighter, is trying to uncover what happen to her friend Talia who recently went missing. With no help from the police, she decides to infiltrate her last known whereabouts, a strip club owned by the next in line in the Irish mafia - Lachlan Crow. With the goal of finding out what happened to her friend at the forefront, she is completely blindsided when she forms a connection with Lachlan. Will she be able to find her friend or will she be distracted by her attraction to the enemy?
This story was all over the place and just didn't work for me. Mackenzie just so happened to be perfectly well versed in all aspects of fighting, police investigations, book keeping, stripping, and the inner workings of the mafia? On top of all that, she is set to be portrayed as a tough woman but as soon as Lachlan is around she is a scared, innocent woman needing protection - very contradictory. She also drove me insane with her lack of thought and planning throughout the story. There really wasn't any chemistry between Mackenzie and Crow and I wasn't invested in the outcome of either character. I was more interested in the other romances the author was trying to set up (such as between Ronan and Sasha) but I'm not sure I have the strength to continue this series.

This was my first mafia romance and it didn’t disappoint! I’ll be reading the whole series now. Looks like I’m in my mafia era!
I really liked all of the characters, well all the ones I’m supposed to like. I like them so much that I have to know what happens to them and this Irish mafia world.
One of my favorite things (idk if it’s a trope) is when the main characters haven’t said I love you and one of them gets kidnapped. The kidnappie (that’s probably not a word) isn’t sure the other person will come for them. And then that person shows up to rescue them and the kidnappie says something along the lines of “I didn’t think you would come for me” and the rescuer says something to melt your panties. That happened in this book and it was so good that I’m now a part of this syndicate. Don’t try and rescue me.
Oh and those “mine” vibes were
