This was okay. I don't really have many notable feelings towards it.

When I picked this book up, I thought it would be a light romance story between long-time friends, but it's not. It is well-packed with emotions and it definitely touches more on body-shaming and bottle-up insecurities.

Ahmad is really a sweet guy, I'd say he's a gentle giant with the way he is with Haddie and their friends.

As for Haddie, I enjoyed seeing her short journey to acceptance of the love and happiness that she deserves.

In spite of all the things I enjoyed about this story, the romance didn't exactly sweep me off of my feet. Probably it has more to do with me not anticipating how deep and emotional this story would be in terms of the individual struggles of each character. I did have a hard time connecting with their romance, and I wouldn't really say that I saw that they're fated mates .

Nonetheless, the story was okay, so it's still definitely worth reading.

Ms. Harrison did it again

I didn’t think I’d connect with this book the way that I did, but here we are. Haddie and Ahmad are complicated and beautiful and perfect for each other.

Well Liquor & Laundry by Tasha L Harrison was fucking great. A hero who isn't afraid to be soft for the woman he's pined for and is a bit intimidated by her in the best ways? Oh yes please.

Hadassah finally hooked up with her high school crush last year at a party. But, they were both drinking and while her blow job was certainly enthusiastic, they left the party without talking about anything, and he never called. Now Ahmad is back in town again for his little brother's graduation, and she's not sure if she wants to see him at all, even if she's been so worried ever since a he was taken out of his football season by a nasty concussion.

Ahmad has been thinking about Haddie too, always. He's aghast to find out the woman he finds oh so confident and to be honest a bit intimidating, thinks he sees her as nothing more than a loud mess. Oh heck no.

Over the course of the days Ahmad is home, these two need to figure out if their high school crushes can become a real relationship.

A perfectly crafted novella that packs a punch for its shorter length, Harrison does an amazing job balancing out the hot chemistry between hear leads, and the various forces pulling them apart. Great secondary characters and just enough football details (including the problems with the NFL and CTE), this was a perfect bedtime snack.

And then reading in the acknowledgements the author is going to keep writing this ampersand series to give fab secondary characters HEAs?! A romance reader's DREAM!

I like how real Hadassah is, it’s very easy to be annoyed/turnt off by her behaviour but that’s how humans really be, even when everything presented argues differently you’re still battling your insecurities and fears and they show themselves in ugly ways. Very refreshing to have a character like Ahmad as a male lead, you dint see characters like him often.

Liquor & Laundry was hot, it was also sweet as hell! I loved how the protagonists were both yearning for each other, but still thought they were alone in their infatuation!

—Hadassah: A horny, curvy queen. I loved her flippant banter and dedication to her up-and-coming fashion line. I can’t speak to the accuracy of the representation of fat trauma, but I found it compelling without being the entirety of her character. She wasn’t drowning in her insecurities. She was actively working through them. 8/10
—Ahmad: A beautiful man. A most excellent man. An absolute sweetheart who falls fast and hard for Hadassah. I also enjoyed his relationship with his family and how he was dealing with his concussion. 9/10
—Smut: Definitely present, descriptive, solidly written, and with some variety. 8/10
Plot: I wouldn’t say this is a plot-heavy book. The focus is more on these characters figuring out themselves so they can be good together. There are some fantastic conversations and moments of emotional vulnerability in this. 7/10
—Overall, I would absolutely recommend this. Smutty and very sweet!

I love the portrayal of vulnerable men. How in touch with his emotions he was, and sweet , such a gentleman and supportive, attentive about Haddie's traumas, fears and dreams! I loved the fact that he remembers details about her job, fabric and designs she creates. And of I love Haddie, she is everything. HADDIE DESERVES THE WORLD. I ENJOYED EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS BOOK.
