This book completely ensnared me. I love the snippets Stunich leaves as her prologues. These characters and their depth constantly left me needing to know what was going to happen to them next. Which is how the ending left me, so excuse me while I dive into the next one.

This is a suspense/thriller RH with strong bullying themes.

This story follows Dakota aka Mia after finding out she was kidnapped as a baby and having her life uprooted and thrown into a new family. She has to cope with the fact that her family that raised her isn’t her family. Her biological mom is cold and overbearing. She’s hated by her stepbrother, his best friend and her new half siblings. All while being “watched” and having strange things happen to her.

Parrish and Chasm are your typical hateful/bully MMC’s at the beginning. The more you get into the story you find out there were reasonings for it and once they chip away their cold exterior you really love their characters.

Maxx he’s definitely the nice guy with a bad past but from the first time he meets Dakota he’s there for her.

Finally Dakotas father. A serial killer in Seattle. He wants Dakota to follow in his footsteps. He gives her puzzles and games to solve in order to help her understand him and figure out her hidden past. If she doesn’t play by his rules he’ll start killing the peoples closest to her.

Overall I really enjoyed this book and it was a nice new twist by C.M. Stunich for a RH story line. If you enjoy her HAVOC or Rich boys of Burberry prep series I think you’ll enjoy this.

Oh my gosh. CM has blown me away with this book. First off it made me want to channel my inner Nancy Drew from when I was younger. No matter what CM writes it’s good. I swear. But this book, I’d argue is her best, and my new favorite. If you’re looking for a thriller/mystery then this is your book. She has explored such an interesting story line that I can’t wait for the next book. This book is also thick, but you can’t put it down. Let’s not forget about how CM throws wit into her words. Nothing short of amazing.

The characters are pretty great. Well, the main three, Dakota, Parrish, and Chasm. There is still so much mystery surrounding them I’m itching to know more. Then we have Maxine and Maxx and we can’t forget Lumen and Danyella. She killed it with these characters. They’re all so intricate and unique and add so much to the story line. We learn little bits and pieces and piecing it all together is the best part.

Okay, this story. Man oh man Dakota has a rough time. I feel for her but dang it, this will
Make her so much stronger. Ans she needs it. She has already gotten so much more fierce with her feelings. Owning them and sticking up for the ones she dares for. I love the growth she is going through. She is coming out swinging next book. Dakota finds herself in an unfortunate predicament. She has to move across the country and will know only her sister who she is forbidden to see. Tess and her family don’t make it the easiest to adapt to a new life. On top of all this, there is a serial killer on the prowl. When you think you know, you don’t. When you’re so invested and need to know, it ends. Payback Princess is highly anticipated after that ending. I can not wait. CM. You rocked it, per usual. I strongly suggest diving into this new series. It is a page turner until the very end and WOW. Just wow.

Confused. I was lost and confused for this synopsis. I normally enjoy this author very much, and was Intrigued for a different storyline. But Dakato (aka Mia) is not the kickas* heroine I’ve come to expect.

Dakato is young and driven by her hormones lusting after every character she crosses. This love/hate relationship with her step brother is wishy washy. Pick a damn side and stick to it already! Her “mother” is a A grade bitch and is so unlikeable it’s hard to feel any empathy for her character. The siblings are merely shadow back ground and the school friends are just white noise.

The “my father is a serial killer” storyline only starts to make sense in the final phase of the book and if book 2 doesn’t live up this could end up as a DNF series(which is rare for me).

it was okay

This book as okay, I’m sure a lot even loved it, but I had zero connection with the characters. No it’s not the age, but I just couldn’t connect at all. The plots was good if the pacing was a bit slow, the characters too, on paper should have been amazing, but it just wasn’t there for me.

C.M. is a wonderful author. I get caught up in every story. The characters are human and real enough that you empathize even if they are totally different from you.
