The premise of the book is quite eye-catching and at first it feels like a lot of information is being uncovered. However as the text goes on, you get the sense that the work is not as rigorous as it wants to convince you it is. The way that an almost creative non-fiction/historical fiction style would creep in in the latter parts, dramatizing and further sensationalising events and even the personae discussed was off-putting and made me trus things less. My review is partially influenced by my fact-checking searches which brought me to other skeptical reviews that pointed out reasons to take the book's information with a hefty grain of salt. I wish there was less conjecture and more substanc because this is an interesting topic.
