Some interesting twists

The first chapter is rough. Really rough. Stick it out and it's just an ok story. An adventure through the wilderness. I couldn't get the main female's character right in my mind - Lilac is so harsh sounding for this supposed princess that I changed it to Lila without realizing it for a while. I really disliked the suspension of disbelief that is required to finish out the book. Not sure if I'll pick up the next book in the trilogy or not, but then again, I finished Twilight, Divergent, and Hush, Hush so you know I probably will.

This book is really good!! The mix of romance and sci-fi and space sciencey stuff caught my attention more than sci-fi books normally do. Such a good read, worth it for young readers, young adults, and adults looking for a light, romantic read.

There are very few young adult science fiction novels that are truly deserving of that title. Most are teen romances plonked in the middle of a vaguely science fiction setting, thankfully this wasn't one of them. It starts in the usual way, boy meets girl, girl meets boy, their eyes meet across a room and the gigantic space ship they are aboard starts falling from the sky. This is where it gets interesting and very, very original. I adored the characters of Tarver and Lilac, and watching their relationship develop under the most interesting of circumstances and by the end I genuinely cared what happened to them. I truly can't wait for the next book as I have no doubt that the authors will produce something every bit as fabulous.

I enjoyed listening to this audiobook, although I didn't feel there was anything wildly original about the plot or characters. I think actually I would have liked the book better without the fantastical element of their lives after the crash. I liked the "rich girl meets nice boy from the wrong side of the tracks in a steampunk-y future" angle, but the mysterious aspects of what was happening on the planet not so much.

I will give book two a try.

This book is kind off like Under The Never Sky, but it's so much better. I really, really liked it. Don't let the cover fool you, it's not just all romance and pretty dresses, (though there's a little of that too, hehe) it's actually pretty dark (and scary!) sometimes!

I can't wait for the sequel!
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Diverse cast of characters: No

An interesting story overall. The pacing felt a bit slow at times and I probably wouldn’t have read this if I knew the main characters were teenagers, but I found the alien part to be interesting and kept my attention to the end.

Well paced and well rendered, but I found myself skimming through a lot of the internal stuff after a while -- OK WE GET IT YOU'RE IN LOVE WITH HIM/HER BUT YOU'RE NOT SURE HOW HE/SHE FEELS IN RETURN. Also, those little scenelets of interrogation got super old super fast. But, all told, it was good. I like Lilac and Tarver. Yay.

Wow. This book was an emotional rollarcoaster. I love survival stories and this was one heck of a survival story! It's so good and I love the character growth our two main characters went through. At times I were so incredibly confused about something, because the characters were too, and all I wanted to do is figure out this mystery! Now I have and it has brought on some more questions that will hopefully be answered in the next book. I really loved it. Definitely recommend! *spoilers* I totally expected the password to be Lilac. I was so frustrated that she couldn't see it uggh. Her dying and coming back but only temporary thing really confused me and made me really really sad. I'm so happy it had a happy ending! I'm excited for more in this world but I do wish I could get more from Lilac and Tarver's POV :(

The romance was good, the characters were okay. Everything else? Didn't intrigue me. The plot started off as really interesting then all of a sudden got so abrupt, so out of nowhere that really made me lose my original liking to this book.
