i liked the idea of this book and the plot! i didn’t like how many plot holes there were and how there were lots of elements in the plot that were never really explained/ very confusing. i also hated the end. there are still so many questions that were unanswered and the end was very out of character. overall, it wasn’t horrible and i did enjoy it up until the end.

Wilder Girls by Rory Power wasn't as good as I expected it to be, but once I got past 60ish pages it was quite okay. The book basically let's you know what's going on on the island, but there's not much else to it. That's why it wasn't too interesting and even though I liked reading it eventually, I can't give this book very high ratings. The cover is 5/5 though

This was an interesting concept that fell a little flat in execution.
I liked:
- Cool scarily realistic future with elements of body horror that were more mature than I expected for YA.
- Group dynamics were solid. I liked that the romantic relationship was overall pretty understated.
Didn’t like:
- Just fundamentally felt underdeveloped. It felt like it would broach topics but not dive deeper than surface level.
- It was kinda confusing? Like maybe my fault for reading when I was busy but parts of the outer world I felt like I didn’t realize until too far in.
Overall good concept but just needed more maturity/depth.

tbh once we got to "the point of it all" it lost me, because i didn't really see one? like it felt a bit unfinished maybe? i really enjoyed the first ½ to ⅔ though. maybe i'm also growing out of YA, but yeah i don't know. pretty solid 3.0 star read for me. didn't wow me in any way
