Going strong! This series is so great. I took the brand-new 7th book to visit some 5th grade classes, and I think their heads almost exploded from excitement.
adventurous
challenging
tense
medium-paced
With some of the secondary characters becoming more major and getting significant time on the page, it might seem like this book goes more sideways than forward... but my son and I still enjoyed this turn of the story and of course the art.
The city of Lucien is destroyed. Emily and the other stonekeepers help Max in an attempt to defeat the voice.

fast-paced

one of my fav books in the series so far, up there with the 3rd book for me i think. the artwork is so prettyyyyyyy i love love love it!! i do wish though that more characters would stop being added - or that they could slow down a bit. it's hard to keep up with how many characters are involved, although it's not horrible because they're illustrated - but still kind of annoying. otherwisee i love this series <3

I received the ARC from NetGalley.
I have always wanted to read this series but never got around to it. Then I saw Vol 6 on Netgalley and decided it was time. So I started Friday and read every spare moment I had. It is Sunday night and I have just finished Vol 6. I am blown away. There are elements that remind me of Avatar: The Last Airbender, Chronicles of Narnia, Howl's Moving Castle and other fantasy/scifi that I've read before but it is still a fun ride. And seeing as how the intended audience is grades 3-7, it is very appropriate. New characters are introduced in every book and the action just keeps building, as well as the suspense. Half of this ARC was in black and white but the pages that were finished and colored were beautiful. The 2 page spreads are pieces of art. I am anxiously waiting for Vol 7!
