Funny, good sequel! Liked it less than the first one! Luc really had less character development than in the first one! Spoilers: The end really angered me! Loke they both wanted to not get married and Luc got pissed at Olivier for something he felt the same way about! L’hypocrisie at it’s finest

If you're expecting a 400 page epilogue of Luc and Oliver being cute together, this book isn't for you. Luc is still messy but not nearly as self-destructive, and Oliver is still a bit of a pushover but he's working on it. I really enjoyed most of this but wish there had been a few more scenes with Luc and Oliver - he's absent from most of the first 3rd of the book.
Spoiler
Also could have used more clues that they were both unhappy with the concept of marriage. While there were some tiny clues, I felt the conflict at the end came mostly out of the blue. Especially as we're in Luc's head for the whole book.allthecoolkidsread's review against another edition

A re-telling of Four Weddings and a Funeral, "Husband Material" is laugh-out loud funny in places and sweet pretty much all the way through.
The narrator, Joe Jameson, was perfect.
Spoiler
And like FW&AF, it ends by them staying together and not getting married. I found the ending a bit unsatisfying in the movie and the same in the book. The narrator, Joe Jameson, was perfect.

This series is sooooo cute!!! Like I can’t get over how much I love Luc and Oliver and their rag-tag bunch of misfits friend group. So far this series has dealt with really heavy topics of mental health, quarter life crises, toxic parenting, and found family while still remaining light and an absolute joy to read. I so hope there’s more!!

Still charming and containing the same style of the first book. I didn’t find it quite as laugh out loud funny as the first novel. It was still nice to check in on Luc and Oliver. I liked how some of the conflict came up, but the last part’s conflict was a bit annoying as it “had” to go to the last minute.

I couldn’t get into this one like I did the first. It was constant fighting and the ending was so abrupt
