adventurous challenging dark emotional medium-paced

The fact that i read this six months ago and didn’t remember a single part of it says something… i enjoyed it but I guess not much more…

Ngl was kinda expecting a cheesy badly written retelling, but wow was I pleasantly surprised. I mean the world building was pretty amazing, though I did have a few queries that I need answers too, but I still have the rest of the series for answers because like of course I plan to read the rest. The insta love to mate love was kinda adorable though I do sorta feel like their personalities and characters could've been more developed it was still such a fun and spicy read. Solid 4 stars only because I felt like the book was a little rushed and could've have been paced better and elaborated upon.

I wanted to love this book, the concept is interesting and I enjoyed the world building. The different areas and element, the link to fairytales and interesting spin on events.

Also adored Ryder especially, however most things seem to be happening to/around him without him being fully aware of anything. Which started to annoy me, with the continuous lack of clear communication - his the only one who seems to make an effort, everyone else is just hiding things and mistrust.

The introduction between Woton & Ryder was stunning, the masquerade element with the masks and their chemistry 🔥 Sadly the rest of their meetings fell apart for me, as pure list filled and lots of cruelty. I couldn't get invested in their relationship, as so hot & cold didn't see actually develop outside of attraction.

Honestly I simply don't care enough to see what happens next, Woton lost me and while intriguing plot. I'm too annoyed by all the shit Ryder is being put through, when all he wants is to belong. His being used as a pawn on a chessboard he doesn't even know about.

Fun and sexy! I was drawn into this one instantly. Red-headed Ryder is just trying to keep his head down and earn enough to get by as a fortuneteller when he's summoned by his grandmother to do her bidding. She's a powerful witch, and Ryder can't refuse, so he must figure out a way to pass through a perilous forest and avoid attracting the attention of Wotan, lord of the hunt. Ryder fails rather spectacularly at this and winds up in Wotan's clutches. A lustful and steamy game of cat-and-mouse ensues. I very much enjoyed this Red Riding Hood retelling and will certainly check out the other books in this series!

This was the way better than I thought it was gonna be. I did not go unexpecting much, but it ended up being a pretty good read.

Was it mostly smut? Yeah. Did it end up having a pretty good plot? Surprisingly, yeah. Right from the beginning, we started with smut. The prologue had smut in it. But there was a surprisingly sweet romance, and somebody got what they deserved. I ended up really liking the world building. It was kind of a dystopian fantasy world.

This was a little red riding hood retelling. Ryder has a little bit of magic and can see the future. He catches the eye of Wotan, who is a leader of one of the syndicates, and is some kind of nightmare monster. After lots of hot and kinky sex, they fall in love, add in a little bit of plot, and meeting the character for the next book, and you have the whole book.

I like insta-love, but their relationship felt like it was missing something.

I really enjoyed Wotan and Ryder’s story. The world building was great but not overwhelming. Ryder is such a good guy, he wants to prove he’s not worthless and weak. And he’s not. He has such strength and power but not in the eye of the witches. And he has to battle that word . Wotan is literally a nightmare, the lord of the earth syndicate and the lord of the hunt. He is powerful and sexy. Together these two guys are hot. Wotan is dominant and Ryder submits beautifully. I liked that it took red riding hood and twisted it, it wasn’t too on the nose with the story, but it let that fairy tale flavor this one. The writing was well done. It was spicy, fun, and sweet with enough angst and problems to move the story and it not to feel stagnant or boring.
