Uno dei primi film da adulti guardai da bambina fu proprio "Il postino di Neruda" e per me leggere questo libro è stata esperienza inscindibile dal ricordo del film e da quello di Massimo Troisi, che recitò per l'ultima volta proprio in quest'occasione.
"Il postino di Neruda" mi ha ricordato Stefano Benni e, come nei libri di Benni, si trovano ben amalgamate la malinconia, un certo gusto per un erotismo materiale e buffo, i piaceri fisici della vita, le passioni umane guardate con una lente benevola e nostalgica. La storia, poi, racconta di Mario Jiménez in quanto anima originaria della vita cilena. Devo dire che il tutto risulta commovente e che la personalità del poeta Neruda ne viene fuori umana e dolcissima.
Un libro che è un piacere e una stretta al cuore.

The friendship between Pablo Neruda and Mario Jiménez is so weird, beautiful and unique that made me fall in love for them. I don't think that the main goal of this book was the romance between Mario and Beatriz.
This book was about the power of words.
It's about how even in the middle of all the difficulties in Chile in those years, was possible to unite the country through the words and works of Pablo Neruda.
It's about how Mario learnt the importance of metaphors.
The importance of talking.
The importance of being yourself.

За мен четенето на тази книга беше истинско удоволствие. Чете се много бързо, леко, езикът и стилът на автора ми паснаха идеално. Харесаха ми ритъмът на текста, хуморът, "метафорите" - прочелите книгата ще ме разберат :))

Holy Santiago, I loved this book so much. Antonio Skarmeta's writing style grabbed me from page one. I have never understood reading a book more than once, but I will definitely read this one again. (I know; not a huge commitment at 118 pages.)
