This was a bit more of a memoir than a travel book and I'm not massively keen on memoirs. The author also comes across as quite annoying and at times condescending, his narration of the audiobook didn't help. It was a, funny at times, quick fish-out-of water story but I can't help thinking there are probably better books about Japan.
