I didn't really know what to expect when I started reading this book, but I was pleasantly surprised, it was able to be both funny but also talk about sensitive topics and be informative at the same time. I already liked the Japanese culture before reading this book but now I feel like I have a greater understanding and appreciation for it. I also feel like it has prepared me for if I ever want to visit. Because there are things that as a foreigner you might not know until you get there. So Chris Broad did an amazing job with this book, I just wish it was longer so I could hear more of his stories. But I guess I can always follow his journey along on his YouTube channel.

A fun and easy read about the first time experiencing Japan. Although I don’t think a viewer of the YouTube channel would appreciate this as much as someone who watches would.

Having been an enjoyer of Chris’s YouTube channel, this was a no-brainer to sit down and listen to on Libby. Enjoyed the narration being by Chris himself and the interesting stories of him teaching, living, and working in Japan!

I really enjoyed this book, as someone who dosent normally read non-fiction or travel books at that I found this book really interesting and engaging, I even started to foow the author in YouTube. If this book wasn't given to me as a gift I don't think I would've picked it up, but im glad I read. It gave me alot of insight on Japenese culture, it was funny and was just generally a great book. Definitely recommend.
