Interesting portrait of life in Japan.  I was totally engrossed and couldn’t put this book down.  Some of the last chapters focussed too much on his experiences growing his YouTube channel.

If you like abroad in Japan, this book gives a lot of context to the channel. Quite a fun book

Not bad, not my usual read I normally like to read about imaginary worlds. So I did struggle to get through it I didn’t want to reach for it compared to other books. However I did enjoy Chris’s humour and sarcasm coming through in the book

Chronicling Broad's beginnings as a young English teacher in a Japanese school to becoming a renowned YouTuber and documentarian. Most of the memoir charts Broad's first few years as a British man living in Japan; the culture shock, finding his feet, failing, trying again, and discovering his focus. Told with his familiar wit and unwavering self-depreciation, Broad shares more behind the scenes than you'll find on his YouTube channel. If you're already familiar with Chris Broad, you will hear this memoir in his voice even if you don't have the audiobook.
