Enjoyed this more than Slammed. The quick connection made a bit more sense & didn't seem as forced. Not as clichè. Really quick read
I'm astounded that I found this book in a YA list. It was difficult for me to read, and I'm almost thirty-eight. There should be trigger warnings all OVER the place. This is a book about child abuse, and it is a rough read. But like all Colleen Hoover books, it is compelling. I wanted to read it all in one sitting (and I almost did). I didn't realize that Hoover had self-published many of her first books, but I understand why they are so beloved. They are dark and gritty, and they feel real. Also, Hoover creates amazing chemistry between her leads. I don't think I could ever read this book again, but I'm glad I did.

I really enjoyed this story, though the romantic portions got a little old in their overly cheesiness. For about the first half of the book I wasn't sure where it was going. It definitely got interesting when the mystery of Sky's past opened up. I liked the mix of humor, mystery, romance, and drama. It was a quick read that I overall felt satisfied with.
Ladies and gentlemen, may I present to you my 12th coho book.
But on a more serious note, Seriously Mrs Hoover? Are you kidding me? How can you write a book that is terribly confusing in the beginning, that has pieces who gather themselves together slowly, but surely during the book and end with a completely mindblowing conclusion?
I can’t do this anymore ma’am.
“We cry mother to daughter. We cry aunt to niece. We cry victim to victim. We cry survivor to survivor.”

The first third or so of this book I didn't really like. The guy was kind of a jerk and the story wasn't really going anywhere.
Parts of it reminded me of [b:The Sea of Tranquility|16151178|The Sea of Tranquility|Katja Millay|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1352987353s/16151178.jpg|21547521] what with the running and the ending up at his house and all.
The rest of the book I liked a lot more and would have given 4 stars overall. It reminded me of the types of stories I liked as a kid and that was a lot of why I liked it.

Please check trigger warnings before reading!
This is absolutely an underrated read!
While this book does have some heavier topics I would recommend you give this a read! Only after you’ve read the warnings and are in a good mental space for this one.
Colleen is incredible at writing a story that will immediately pull you and characters you cant help but love. Along with the fact that she can write a plot twist of a lifetime. This one… I wasn’t expecting.
I cant give too much without it spoiling the story as you find out bits and pieces as you read. Even from the first chapter. The best way to go into this book is not knowing anything about it.
I absolutely love Holder. He is such a caring character. He goes above and beyond for Sky. And you can see how much he adores her.
Sky is such a strong character. Despite everything we learn and see what she goes through she is a badass. I loved reading about Sky’s character and following her throughout Hopeless. Most definitely one of my favorite CoHo characters along with Holder.

I loved this book. It had a crazy amount of plot twist and wtf moments. Couldn’t put it down
