Hopeless

Colleen Hoover

4.05 AVERAGE

This book…..is the best book I’ve read from Colleen so far. 10/10.

She's adopted. Karen is her adoptive mother. Her best friend, Six, is in fact called Seven Marie, but to spite her parents for making her move from Texas to Maine, she changed her name.
She met Holder for the first time in a grocery store, where he followed her to the parking lot because she reminded him of his twin sister, whom he later confessed to have killed herself due to overdose. The rumors of him going to juvi where false.
His "hopeless" tattoo is a reminder of the people he has let down in his life. Hopeless comes from "Lesslie" and "Hope". Hope was her real name when she was a child, because Holder, Lesslie and Hope were friends as children because the twins lived next door to to Hope and her dad. Lesslie gave her the bracelet.
She wasn't adopted, someone took her from her dad and she had been missing for 13 years. Her real birthday is May 7th, not in September. Her father used to rape her at night when she was a child. He also did it to his sister and Lesslie. When Holder and Sky went to his house, her father killed himself with his gun.
Karen was Sky's aunt, and she was the sister that her father had raped.

5+++ amazing stars!

This is the first book that I ever read by Colleen Hoover and it made me totally fall in love with her work. Hoover is a gifted writter with a beautiful and heartbreaking way of telling stories.

I was mindblown after finishing this book and it left me breathless so many times, I can't even count! All of the emotions are just so intense and well described! This book is definitely one of my favorite and it made me want to read everything that this author has ever written.

The character's emotional growth was well developped and the story was easy to follow even though there were some flashbacks in the past.

I would recommend this book to everyone who likes reading romance and a little drama (MORE LIKE A LOT).

PS: keep a kleenex box close while reading this book!!

Wow. This one turned out to be a whole lot more than I expected it to be. Such a good one. However, Maybe Someday is probably my favorite overall from Colleen Hoover.

This is so intense! Now I understand the girl on the cover, I'm emotionally exhausted! this literally sucked out my hope in humanity...

I actually didn’t see some of the events happening in this one! Ready to read the rest of the series!

When my brain stubbornly can’t decide on my next read, I like to grab something from Hoover’s backlist. Woman is prolific! And always cleanses the palate. While I sometimes cringe at her need to spell out already implied points (we’ve got it, #CoHo, move on and drop that page count a smidge), she always sets the hook fast. Flawed characters and an intense, twisty story. I zipped through this. Always immersive, always ultimately enjoyable.
