So… This book was not good. Honestly, it felt like the author wanted to tackle so many issues but had little knowledge of the actual issues. The characters were bad. The heroine is basically the girl that screams, “I’m not like most girls! I'm unique!” While being almost exactly like most girls (which is okay). Also, there was unnecessary slut-shaming. The hero is a walking red flag but somehow it is okay because he is good looking and he can't help his actions because of trauma. Needless to say that the romance was also bad. Nothing really happens for the first 200 pages and the ending left a few questions like, will the main characters be getting much-needed therapy in the future?? There were some good scenes but the bad outweighed the good in this book.
What started as a book full of teen angst, ended up being so much more than just that. Typical CoHo not just leaving it there. I always seem to get pulled into the characters she writes, and Hopeless is no different (I heart Holder). She pulls me in, and then makes me feel all the feels. Even though I found the overall events slowly being predictable even through the last half, she still heart-wrenchingly pulls you through it all. Lots of emotions, including tragic ones. But still very worthwhile time spent.
It was so an emotional ,, I loved it being the emotional person I am..
I felt sky's pain before so I understand every single emotion she goes through.. epically the guilt..
knowing that lots of children all around the world are suffering from these things that comes from a close heartless adult to them is heartbreaking

The plot was good and I think if CoHo went back and rewrote this it would be 5 stars. But the writing was honestly really bad. And Holder had a bad temper for no reason and he didn’t even make excuses or try to be better he just kept running away from his problems and that honestly was never addressed. Also super predictable the only thing I was shocked by was Hope/Sky’s dad and Les.
