Wow! This book had me gasping at so many parts. Some parts were extremely hard to read. Trigger warning it contains sexual assault. I loved loved loved Holder and how much he took care of her! It was destined to be that they found eachother again.
Okay - I’m finally ready to write a review for this book.
Wow! That climax tho! I feel like with even Colleen Hoover book I read, she always finds a way to swiftly kick me in the tits and makes me feel all the feels! This is what makes her an incredible author and I love reading her novels!
I tell you - when Holder told Sky that she had been missing for 13 years, I couldn’t concentrate on anything! I couldn’t even continue reading because it was NOT the revelation I was prepared to hear. Like - I knew that somehow Holder and Sky knew each other, but that was pretty easy to see.
Overall - this book was incredible and it truly moved me! Sky was a very strong character and I like how Hoover discusses the different ways people handle trauma. A lot of the times, novels with stories like these highlight a character that is angry and withdrawn, but because of Sky’s ability to block out her memories, she was truly a regular teenager and even after the revelation you could tell that her character would not revert but would grow from reliving her past.
And Holder - on Dean Holder was lovely and you could tell that everything he did cake from a place of love. Overall - this is my book of the month from March 2020 and I’ve already put the next two books in the series on my TBR!

There should be warnings on books like 'Hopeless'. Warnings to let the reader know that the emotions they feel while reading this book will be so deep that the minute you put the book down, you feel like the real world is missing something. I can't pin point what it is in Colleen's writing that got to me so much, but she has me addicted!
Esta autora no deja de sorprenderme. Es un libro desgarrador, pero tiene ese rayo de esperanza al que te querrás aferrar. Fantástico.
Hopeless was my first Colleen Hoover read. I was not expecting the depth Hopeless brought! I thought the book would be a shallow new-adult, romantic, sexy story. I would never have imagined the horrors in both the main characters past and the climax when these horrors reached a breaking point.
Hopeless had a bit of a thriller feel when Sky faces demons from her past. I updated my Goodreads status when I was 83% finished with the book saying I felt sick to my stomach and the story got worse before it got better.
As a new adult book Hopeless also included plenty of head over heels teenage love. I liked Sky and Holder's relationship except for Holder's cheesy lines. I like romance novels but this one at times was too ridiculous to be believable his lines as something a high school boy would say.
I listened to Hopeless on audible and was not a big fan of the narrator. For these reasons I rated Hopeless 3 out of 5 stars.

To put it lightly, this book was intense.
Trigger warning ⚠️: Rape and child abuse.
Hoover really has a way with writing the crazy, extreme plots to accompany the romance.
On the one hand, I enjoy the reality if it. Nobody lives a perfect, fairy tale life. However, it can also be dark and maybe a little too real.
Sky and Holder seem drawn to each other right from the start. Their time together is sickeningly sweet and very high school romance. The humor in the conversations had me smiling throughout. However, the dark bits definitely had me feeling uncomfortable.
Nonetheless, it was an quick read with a cute love story and powerful ending.
I'd give it a solid 3.5 out of 5.
