HOLY SHIT!
This is seriously one of the best books I have ever read. This book took me on an amazing journey, one I won't soon forget, with two characters who were so genuine and perfect for each other. This book was nothing that I expected it to be. If you read one book this year, make it this one.

It is just a beautifully written story about two people who through what seems an interminable storm hold on strong enough to find a ray of hope.
Oh my poor heart! I felt so much reading this book. I had to take “chapter breaks”.
This book tore me apart. I didn’t even see what was coming. Holder is amazing. Sky is brave.
If only the world had more Karen’s to save all the little girls.
Can’t wait to see how they continue the story.

I need to stop reading YA novels. Sometimes I find it just so hard to believe that teens behave this way, talk this way, etc. but what do I know? I'm the one reading YA novels.
If all of CoHo's books are like this, I think I can confidently say that they're not for me :(
I have issues with Hopeless. ISSUES. I'm afraid this is going to be more like random thoughts about the stuff that bothered me than a proper review, sorry about that :(
- This book and I were off to a bad start from chapter one. I hate, hate double standards, and one of the first things Sky - our protagonist - says is something like "I make out a lot, but I'm not a slut because I actually don't have sex with them. Now, if I slept with all those guys, then I would be a slut". Let me tell you something girl, if you're single, you can do whatever the hell you want to do. And sex or no sex, NO ONE has a right to call you that word. Period.
- Since we're on the topic, I hated that Sky and her BFF Six would use whore/slut as a term of endearment. I get that this was supposed to make you understand that they don't care about anyone else's opinions, but still. NOT. ON.
- "I can't tell you I love you yet, because it's not true" - Holder tells Sky this about a week after they meet. And a lot of times after that. Somehow I felt like CoHo was trying to convince me that it was not insta-love. (Spoiler alert: it was totally insta-love).
- "He cradles my head with his hand and lowers me back to bed, climbing on top of me" - then they cry. This happens A LOT. Even before the bad stuff starts to happen.
- "His voice drops into that lyrical, godlike octave again" - see above. Emphasis on again
- The way he orders her to get on birth control. ORDERS HER. Just no.
Sometimes the world is an ugly, ugly place.

Spoiler
- I'm not going to say much about this because child abuse is probably my biggest no-no when reading a book, and to be honest if I had known this book dealt with that I would have never picked it up at all. After Sky finally remembers what happened to her I was too horrified to make any sense of the story, and I don't claim to know how you must react after finding out something so terrible, but the way Sky and Holder decide they have to finally have sex to make the pain go away was deeply disturbing. Again, this is my personal opinion. I liked Sky's strength and her honesty to herself, but there was not much else I enjoyed. Still, by the end of the book I was absolutely heartbroken :(((((((Sometimes the world is an ugly, ugly place.
I think it is safe to save if the cover has the words "Colleen Hoover" written across it in bold letters, you are about to receive a story just a tall and bold. And unexpected.
I am completely speechless. But at least I am not hopeless =] AMAZING
