The end of the book made up for the slow start. I got 200 pages in and not much of substance happened. Mostly setup for the next 200 pages where a lot more happened and my jaw dropped several times. If you can make it through the first half of the book, you will not be disappointed.
This book is a 2.5 star for adults who have had sex before . I’m pretty sure it is a 5 star for 15 year old girls. This is a teen girl’s romance novel which is predictable and basic . Hoover knows how to bring in the cash flow and because this is a series, I’m sure she will be set for a while as Netflix most likely figures out how much it will cost to make into a series. $$$
The narrative is from a 16 year old girl and is just as expected; dramatic and fluff. So if you are under the age of 16 you will most likely find this book titillating. If you are older, or male, just save your book space .

Massive trigger warning on this books. It deals with some pretty heavy subject matter but I honestly cannot explain how much I love this book. 2nd reading and I adore it just as much as I did originally. I'd give it more than 5 stars if I could.
I really enjoyed this CH book! Just when you think you know the story, something huge happens, and you just continue to be shocked til the end of the book! Make sure to read up on trigger warnings if you need to!
many unexpected turns. a lot of back and forth though that kinda confused me at times.
I started reading this book at midnight and I didn't go to bed till 6am. I couldn't put it down. everytime I thought I found a spot that would be a good place to stop, something in the story came up and kept me going!
I have very mixed feelings about this book and I tried so hard to push myself and give it more than 2 stars but I couldn't; it has a lot of issues and whenever I said"ok now it's getting better" things just flopped even worse.
Saying that one moment has the power to forever change someone’s life seems obscenely cliché but that is exactly what happened to Sky Davis one fateful day at the grocery store. The moment she and Dean Holder locked gazes set them on a path that forever changes both of their lives for the better and the worse.
Sky has simply endured every relationship she has had up to the point. She hides within herself during all romantic encounters. Holder will not tolerate Sky’s numbness when she is with him. Having never felt an emotional attachment to any of her other boyfriends, Sky fears the feelings she has with/for Holder. What Sky doesn’t realize is that her inexplicable deep feelings for Dean are easily explainable, she just doesn’t remember why.
Dean does everything in his power to avoid having to shatter Sky’s world. However, neither of them knew of the other demon lurking in the shadows and how many people it would touch before the damage was done. Once all is revealed Dean and Sky will have to figure out how and if they can move forward with a future together.
The pain that each of the main characters endures is very hard to read but the story is incredibly captivating. You can’t help but want to finish the book to see what happens and how it ends. Colleen Hoover has created characters that possess great strength and endurance. While the book doesn’t end with a happily ever after, it does end with the impression that each of the characters are stronger than they were at the beginning and that they will find happiness.
Note: This book could emotionally overwhelm some readers. Having read it, I now fully understand that while the story may be about two young adults, some may not be able to handle the content.
