A very "grown up" kind of YA fiction that centres around a young woman named Skye, who, after being home-schooled, enters high school for her final year. There, due to other circumstances, she already has a reputation, leaving her ostracized and alone. Then, she meets, Holder, another outsider who seems to show up wherever she goes. Their romance takes off in a hurry, but there is something more to their relationship. Why does Skye keep having dreams of her past? How do Holder and his sister factor into a past she cannot remember? Twists and turns to this story made this a novel that was pretty compelling and I can totally understand why females, in particular, loved this book.

4.5 ⭐️

It's bittersweet that this is one of my 'comfort' books.

I read it first in 2018 and I love it much more than I did then.

Wow.

Thoughts: ...okay, just not for me.

Hoover's books are all easy and quick to read, and captivtating. She captures the intense feelings of first love perfectly, and this one was even more intense due to the underlying complications of their history.
