I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I'm super annoyed with that ending. I need Avenged now.

Ruined has been a book on my radar for ages. I knew I wanted to read something new to start off 2019 so decided Ruined would be the perfect book to pick up. Luckily I wasn't disappointed. There was a few moments where I was a little bored, hence the rating, but overall I did enjoy it. The world was nicely developed, and the characters were intriguing. I will be continuing with book 2 and 3 soon.

This book wasn't bad, but it did miss the mark in a few key areas. Never a page turner, it was at least interesting enough to keep me coming back for the first half. Then, it got a little boring, and then out of nowhere the romantic storyline became front and center. As many others have noted, it just wasn't believable, to the point that it was even a little cringe at points. By this point, I was fairly near the end so I decided to see how it wraps up. And then.... THERE'S A CLIFFHANGER ENDING. If I'd known I wasn't going to get any resolution, I definitely wouldn't have stuck with it to the end.

A quick read and an enjoyable enough book but nothing particularly special. I loved and adored Reboot so I wanted to see Tintera's take on fantasy but I didn't love it as much as I thought I would.

Thank goodness this was better than I was expecting!

I didn't enjoy the beginning of this book. Right off the bat we have a protagonist that kills someone for their own selfish reasons— this did not make me like her. I was also worried that there was a lot of foreshadowing of a potential love triangle and that just didn't impress me at all.

Luckily, the protagonist redeemed herself throughout the book and the love triangle dissolved.
Spoiler I will say that I feel like killing him was a little bit drastic, actually, there was a lot of death in this book that just didn't affect me.
I loved the direction the author took plot wise in this book and I am really looking forward to reading the sequel.

This is better than [b:Red Queen|22328546|Red Queen (Red Queen, #1)|Victoria Aveyard|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1449778912s/22328546.jpg|25037051] but not as amazing as [b:Throne of Glass|7896527|Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1)|Sarah J. Maas|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1335819760s/7896527.jpg|11138426]. If you liked either of those I would recommend you pick this one up.

Ruined is so good. I love the characters, I love that Em has no magical powers and has to use other ways of fighting. I loved that there was romance and fighting and betrayal. I really liked that they didn't save Damian, it totally sucked but it went against a lot of cliches in fantasy books so that was great. I loved Cas and Em omg.

THAT ENDING THO.

I need the next book yesterday

This was such a gripping book. The action and main plot started on page one. I read it in two sittings that's how good it was.
