This was such an outstanding book and the cherry on top was the author narrating it

Not my favorite Julia Whelan novel, but still strong. I think it was because I wasn’t really invested in the concept itself, but the romance and character development was well paced and formed (and believable)

I am in awe of the talent that is Julia Whelan and her voice acting skills. She is my favourite audio narrator and this book definitely highlights how many accents, ages, genders and variations she can perform. It’s a cute romance book plot and you MUST listen to it vs read it with eyeballs.

I see where one would enjoy this, however i did not.

I loved every minute of this book! Julia Whelan quickly became a favorite narrator of mine, and now I love her as an author as well. The characters have such depth, the difficult life circumstances they go through were written with grace and empathy, and all the emotional aspects throughout the book - comedy, love, grief, anger - were so beautifully done. I loved the chemistry between Swan and Nick, and also the friendship between Swan and Odaku.

She clarifies that while she does share a lot of characteristics with Swan and she wrote a lot of her own emotions into this book, the actual story is not autobiographical. Thank You for Listening is a beautiful love letter to both audiobook narrators and romcoms. And Julia Whelan once again was incredible with her narration!

TW: alcohol use, family member with dementia, mentions of cheating (not main character), divorcee parents, explicit sexual scenes, strong language, death of a family member

DID NOT FINISH: 45%

Couldn't handle more... Terrible... All the exchanged messages, etc...

Good banter! Easy to predict, but still fun to read.

Funny and enjoyable. Add author to the list of things that Julia does well!!
