I loved! So much! I listened to it on Audible and before I was even finished I bought the hard copy and the journal/workbook companion.

There were things about this book I really liked. Doyle’s critique of how modern society treats women and girls is spot-on. Her heartfelt compassion for her kids and family is moving.
For the most part, I didn’t resonate with Doyle’s ideas and had some major disagreements with her, specifically in terms of how she describes faith. It read like a lot of pithy Instagram captions to me. I found the platitudes weak and excessive. I do not care for the mini essay writing style — it felt forced to me.
HOWEVER. IT IS STILL IMPORTANT TO READ THIS BOOK. It is a national bestseller for a reason. One of the biggest lessons my dad ever taught me was that you can’t critique anything you haven’t read. For that reason, I’m glad I can have a gauge on what is popular and pervasive in female thought right now. If you’ve read this I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Really happy for her and that she is living a good life but found it repetitive as a book, could be a good Ted Talk.
