So I finally had the chance to listen to this audiobook. It was informative and gripping but dragged on in places. Otherwise, it was a good book.

DID NOT FINISH: 0%

This isn’t a book about the Golden State Killer; it’s a book about a mediocre and arrogant author’s obsession with the Golden State Killer.

Some personal input is fine, and flavor from the author can be expected, but this is a redundant, gratuitous exploration of the author’s personal story.

It’s gross and worst of all, it’s not interesting to read.

Genuinely terrifying, extremely well written and very, very, very detailed.

I have so much respect for the time and effort Michelle put into writing this book, and keeping the public from allowing themselves to forget about this monster until he could be caught. Extremely well written and researched.
challenging dark sad

This book was so good. Repetitive at points but that’s due to the author’s untimely death, and the fact that the second half was pieced together from her notes. It may sound strange, but the accounts of the crimes where the victims were left alive were significantly more terrifying than the murders. On that note, my next book needs to be about something that does not involve psychos.

Emotional read, I loved it. I wished she was still alive to see his face and help solve other unsolved crimes.
