Definitely not my favorite book. I thought it was a bit boring, but maybe that’s because I already watched the documentary and know a lot about this case.
A dark subject matter but so well written, has you wanting the monster caught as much as Michelle did.

Awesome! Very well written, intriguing and so informative without being overtly gory or invasive to the survivors. I did not want to stop reading this! Michelle McNamara left behind an amazing legacy! I feel like I know her now and would have loved to get to know her in real life, she put her soul out there to share with us.

While this book is challenging in content it is totally worth the read. McNamara truly delves into such a dark and twisted case and brings it to light. I agree with those who say her book helped bring the Golden State Killer to justice. The victims’ story as well as McNamara’s tragic passing really tug at your heart.

The most humanizing and heartfelt piece of literary true crime I've read. I highly recommend watching the series based on the book too. It delves even deeper into the author and the other heroes of this nightmare of a real life story.
