This was a beautiful book. The steady pace, wonderful characters and lovely writing felt like a warm hug and a coming home each time I returned to Ove's world. Ove and Sonia's story was lovely and relatable as it was heartbreaking, and it brought me much joy yo see the way Ove learned that life persists after love lost. In the end Ove was given exactly the children he needed, as well as the deserving title of Grandad. I loved Ove and the world he inhabited.

an inspiring and funny story of why a grumpy old man (who reminds me way too much of my ex-father-in-law) is who he is and wants to find a way to move on from life, and the moments between. loved jk simmons as the narrator!

📚 Review: In typical Fredrik Backman style - this made me sob. He makes you fall in love with the characters even before they become loveable, and really destroys every single part of you. This book was about the incredible impact someone can have on many lives, and was a great reminder that you don’t know what other people are going through. Every character was so loveable, and this book had so many heartbreaking pieces. I absolutely adored it and if you liked it, I think you’ll enjoy Nosy Neighbors by Freya Sampson, and All The Lonely People by Mike Gayle.
